Qazi for agreed constitutional amendment Package to resolve LFO Issue
By M Akram Malik - Pakistan Times Punjab Bureau Chief

LAHORE: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami and Central Leader of MMA Qazi Hussain Ahmed has said that government should bring agreed constitutional amendment package in the parliament within month so that LFO issue could be settled amicably.

Package 'must' in Parliament

Speaking at an Iftar dinner held by Mian Muhammad Saeed in his honour here Wednesday, Qazi said, the only way to resolve the issue was that the agreed constitutional amendment package was approved by the parliament.

In case of failure to meet the deadline of December 17, MMA would protest over it along with ARD, he added.

Islamic System

Advocating enforcement of Islamic system, Qazi Hussain said no attempt to change Islamic character of the Constitution would be allowed in the country.

Qazi also spoke about the importance of fasting and said it provides an opportunity to Muslims to change their lives besides seeking blessings of God.

Censures Western Civilization

Criticizing western civilization, he said it was based on materialistic approach and characterised by obscenity. "It has already eaten into vitals of western society with family system with almost disintegrated there."

He said they describe Western civilization as superior one but in fact it is hollow and based on pursuit of wisheseven at the price of moral values and cannot face Islamic civilization which is based on respect for human values, decency, humility and rejection of whatever is evil and immoral.
