LAHORE: Four persons of a family, including three children were killed when the roof of a house in Korian village, Burki, collapsed in the wee hours Wednesday.

Names

Those killed have been identified as Rafia (35), wife of Muhammad Khalid, their son Allah Dittah (7), daughter Umme Habiba (5) and niece Riffat Bibi (11).

Two children escaped unhurt miraculously.

Details

According to police sources, the girder of the roof suddenly broke and the structure caved in over the sleeping family who were buried under the debris. When Muhammad Khalid, a factory worker, returned home from duty around 'sehri' time, he raised a hue and cry when he saw the situation.

People of the locality rushed to the site and after struggling for over an hour, managed to pull out the bodies from under the debris. Three children, two sons of Muhammad Khalid, Habib and a neonate and a niece Allah Rakhi survived miraculously.
