Indian Cricket Board institutes probe, suspends player accused of bribery
Pakistan Times Sports Desk

CALCUTTA (India): India's cricket board on Friday suspended player Abhijit Kale while it probes allegations that he offered bribes to get on the national team.

The cricket board president, Jagmohan Dalmiya, said two selectors Kiran More and Pranab Roy - complained that Kale tried to solicit their support for selection to the national team.

"The board has instituted a one-man inquiry panel to probe the charge and Kale will not be playing in any first-class matches until the inquiry is completed,'' Dalmiya told reporters in Calcutta.

Dalmiya said the inquiry by D.V. Subbarao, chairman of the Bar Council of India, would take at least 15 days.
