Juma-tul-Wida observed with Religious Fervour
By Salman Shahid - Pakistan Times Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD: The nation observed Juma-tul-Wida (the last Friday of the Holy month of Ramazan) with religious zeal and fervour throughout the country.

Big congregations were held at all main mosques in the big cities where the faithful offered prayers for the development and prosperity of the country. In the Federal Capital, the biggest Friday congregation was held at Faisal mosque.

A large number of people also offered Juma prayers in other mosques of the Federal Capital including the Lal Masjid. The Ulema and imams spoke about the significance of the day.

Security

Law enforcing agencies had also made strict security arrangements to avoid any mishap on the occasion. Police had stepped up the security in the capital for Juma-tul-Wida and deployed police commandos at mosques and imambargahs to avoid any untoward situation.

Police commandos equipped with sophisticated weapons and wireless sets were deployed at all sensitive places. Plain clothes police personnel were deployed with sniffer dogs outside the sensitive places to avert criminal activities in the capital.

Private security guards, hired for security of mosques and imambargahs during Ramzan, were also directed to ensure high vigilance on Juma-tul-Wida. The DSPs and SHOs of all police stations had been instructed for patrolling in their respective jurisdictions during prayers time.

The police had also been alerted at the entry and exit points of the capital and directed to keep an eye on the suspected elements.

Mehfil-e-Shabeena

A three nights Mehfil-e-Shabeena is being arranged at Faisal Mosque on 27th, 28th & 29th Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, this year--as well.

All the interested people are requested to attend the national Mehfil-e-Shabeena for listening the recitation of Holy Quran. They are, however, advised not to bring minor children as well as any Article like Camera, Bag, Thermos etc in Faisal Mosque during Mehfil-e-Shabeena.
