ISLAMABAD: President Gen
Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali
issued separate messages Tuesday on the auspicious occasion of
Eid-ul-Fitr.
President's Message
President General Pervez Musharraf asked the nation to do its
utmost for the defence of the country and continue efforts for
its development and prosperity.
"It is a matter of great
pleasure for all of us that we observed brotherhood and
fraternity throughout the holy month of Ramadan," he said in
his message on the eve of Eid ul Fitr .
President Musharraf said
that with the blessing of Allah Almighty, no unpleasant
incident happened during the month of Ramadan and for this he
congratulated the nation, government and the law enforcing
agencies.
"I hope that the nation
would not only keep its distance from the menace of
sectarianism but would also assist the government in its
eradication," he said and added, "Let us celebrate the day of
Eid together and unitedly. May Allah be kind to us and help us
in our lives.
Felicitations to the Muslims World
President Musharraf also extended his heartiest felicitations
to the Muslims of entire Islamic world in general and to the
people of Pakistan in particular on the blessed occasion of
Eid-ul-Fitr.
"Thanks to Allah Almighty,
Who endowed upon us the fervour to observe the fasting during
Ramadan with due forbearance, fortitude and passion of
submission," he said.
"The blessings of such
religious ardour enabled us to remain modest and humble and
devoted throughout the holy month of Ramadan and to bow our
heads before Allah Almighty, Who granted us opportunity to
show reverence towards the holy month," he added.
PM's Call to Nation
Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali Tuesday asked the
nation to rejuvenate the promise that "We will continue to
struggle for the mutual affinity and unity among ourselves."
In his message on Eid ul
Fitr, the Prime Minister said the nation should also make
efforts on this auspicious occasion to shun sectarianism and
differences to inculcate unity in its ranks.
Jamali said the preference
should be to provide the Muslim Ummah with the true
prospective of the Islamic teachings as well as worldly
affairs. "To maintain balance in the our lives and avoid
extremism is in line with the teachings of Islam and needs to
be followed," he added.
The Prime Minister said on
this occasion, "I pray to Allah Almighty to save our country
from every crisis and calamities and open gateways of His
blessings and benevolence to us".
Jamali, Musharraf
celebrate Eid in Islamabad, Rawalpindi
President General Pervez
Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali would
be celebrating Eid in Rawalpindi and Islamabad respectively.
President Musharraf would be offering his Eid pray in
Rawalpindi whereas Prime Minister Mir Zafar Ullah Khan Jamali
would be offering the pray at Faisal Mosque.
Musharraf would be distributing Eidi amongst the poor in
Rawalpindi whereas Jamali will also be distributing Eidi after
offering prayer at the Mosque as well as at the Prime Minister
House.
The PM House would be open
on general public for quite some time and would meet the
people. Musharraf would be also receiving guests at his
residence in Rawalpindi.
