PESHAWAR: Partial Eid
was celebrated here in NWFP on Tuesday following announcement
by the provincial Rouat-e-Hilal Committee, which received over
200 witnesses about sighting of the Shawwal moon.
The provincial Rouat-e-Hilal
committee met at Auqaf Plaza on Monday evening under the
chairmanship of MNA, Qari Fayaz-ur- Rehman Alvi.
The NWFP Chief Minister,
Akram Khan Durrani and Provincial Senior Minister,
Siraj-ul-Haq also celebrated Eid and offered prayers in their
native towns Bannu and Dir Lower, respectively.
Federal Minister for Water
and Power, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao offered Eid prayers at his
home town Sherpao in Charsadda district.
The provincial government
had already announced Eid holidays from Nov 25 to 29.
In the provincial
metropolitan, Eid prayers were offered at Eidgah, led by
former Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs, Qari
Roohullah Madni. Prominent among those who offered Eid prayers
at Eidgah were MNA, Shabir Ahmad and Nazim Town 1, Haroon
Bilour.
The NWFP Governor, Lt. Gen
(R), Iftikhar Hussain Shah will offer Eid prayers on Wednesday
(November 26) at Kohat.
