Asifa, Bilawal in Pakistan to celebrate Eid with Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Two children of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Tuesday arrived here to celebrate Eid with their imprisoned father Asif Ali Zardari.

Bilwal and Asifa are flew inform Dubai and were received by Pakistan Peoples Party activists and leaders at the airport. Bakhtawar will remain in Dubai to celebrate Eid with her mother Benazir Bhutto.

Imprisoned Asif Ali Zardari, spouse of former Premier Benazir Bhutto earlier this month completed 7 years in jail. He was put behind bars on November 4, 1996 and is languishing there since then.

There are seven Accountability References pending against him at Rawalpindi and Attock Fort, and six criminal cases in Karachi since 1996. He is being tried in special courts under special laws.

One of the cases against him is alleged dealing in narcotics about which Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, who was the minister for Narcotics Control at that time has publicly stated that it was false case.

Sajjad Hussain Chairman Pakistan Steel Mills was involved in cases of corruption and in jail. He was freed only after he was forced to perjure and recorded false statement against Zardari.

Zardari was first bailed out on medical grounds in 1998 but was denied freedom. Asif Zardari has been bailed out or otherwise freed by courts in twenty incidents.

There are seven references filed against Zardari of which four are being proceeded with and three were adjourned sine die by the Accountability Courts. In four out of six criminal cases Asif Ali Zardari has been accused of murder.
