Ten killed in Indian Occupied Kashmir Clashes
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR (Indian Held Kashmir): Eight Muslim freedom-fighters and two Indian soldiers were killed in clashes over the past 24 hours in India held-Kashmir.

Struggle for freedom from the Indian yoke has not abated in the Himalayan region despite peace efforts by India and Pakistan who have fought two of their three wars over Kashmir since 1947.

A police spokesman said that army soldiers shot dead two freedom fighters on Saturday in a fierce battle in Anantnag district south of Srinagar, the summer capital of the Indian occupied part of the Jammu and Kashmir State.

Elsewhere, six freedom fighters and two security force personnel were killed in gunbattles across the region since Friday evening, police said.

The army ceasefire on the frontline has held so far, but fighting groups have said they will not go for the truce.
