By Munir Maseeh - Pakistan Times Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Christian community celebrated the 2003th birthday of the Jesus Christ with the usual fervour on Monday.

In the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, large congregations were held at the St. Joseph's Cathedral and Christ Church.

In Rawalpindi, Bishop Anthony Lobo celebrated Mass at the St. Joseph Cathedral. Special prayers were offered for the solidarity and prosperity of Pakistan and for the oppressed people around the globe.

Christian community decorated and illuminated small churches in their localities including G-7/2, Ahensa Colony G-8, Paris Colony F-7 and Tokyo Colony F-7 to.

The Christmas Tree and a 'crib' depicting the Nativity scene was the most essential adornments of the festivity.

Some churches and institutions also organized Christmas Bazaars and cultural shows. One such event was held at G-6 ground with the joint efforts of the Christian community and district administration.
