Blast Damages Railway Track in Karachi

KARACHI: A portion of the railway track was partially damaged in an explosion caused by some explosive devices near Malir Railway Station Friday evening.

The Railway Control Room received an information in this regard at 9:07 PM Local Time (4:07 PM GMT), however, there was no casualty, the Railway sources said.

The Railway Divisional Superintendent and SP Railway Police rushed to the scene of the blast and further details are awaited till the filing of this report.

Two Blasts


An earlier report said that at least two blast of crackers occurred at the railway track near Green Town in the jurisdiction of Shah Faysal Police Station here Friday.

'Track Safe'

No damage to life or property is reported as a result of these blasts, the incharge policeman told the daily web newspaper, Pakistan Times by phone. The railway track is safe, he informed.

The blasts were of the lowest intensity in which some crackers were used.
