LAHORE: Punjab Chief
Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi Monday announced financial
assistance of Rs 50,000 each for the families of those killed
in a bus accident near Bhakkar.
As many as 62 passengers got killed when a bus fell into a
canal near Bhakkar on Thursday last.
Chairing a meeting of Punjab Cabinet here, CM Pervaiz Elahi
said that fitness certificates should be issued to the buses
and trucks vigilantly.
The cabinet also reviewed various aspects of under-formulation
transportation policy and stressed the need for effective
legislation to cancel route permits of faulty buses and to
check over-loading.
