'WAPDA pays Rs 232M to AJK Government'

ISLAMABAD: WAPDA would be paying the second installment of Rs 232 million to Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) by January 15 following the first installment of Rs 236 million that has already been submitted to the AJK government, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Water, Power, KANA and SAFRON, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao informed Tuesday.

Sherpao said this while presiding over the Mangla Raising Committee meeting held here to review the progress of the Compensation Package for the Mangla Dam affectees. He expressed satisfaction over the regular payment by WAPDA to AJK government of water usage charge.

The meeting took a review of the progress of Compensation package for the Mangla Dam affectees and the pace of work on the planning and execution of Mangla Dam raising project.
