Pakistani Doctor develops bone graft substitute


A PAKISTANI Doctor has claimed to develop bone graft substitute material for mending broken bones.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Mohammad Tariq Sohail who has been trained in UK and is serving as Professor of Orthopaedics, Postgraduate Medical Institute, Services Hospital Lahore, said that the material has been successfully used in a number of surgeries.

Dr Tariq claimed to have carried out 130 different bone surgeries and said that all the patients expressed their satisfaction.

He said that the material is also used for spine surgery and the cost of treatment is much less as compared to its expenses abroad. He further said that the material used on bones operations leaves no side effect.
