4 Bn ton steel discovered at Chiniot in Pakistan

CHINIOT: As much as forty crores [almost four billion] ton of steel reservoir has been discovered from Chiniot where a project would be launched on the model of the Steel Mill Karachi, according to a report on Wednesday.

Punjab Minister for Mineral and Natural Resources Mohammad Sabtain Khan during a press briefing in Lahore highlighted last year’s progress for the discovery of various minerals.

He informed about six new projects launched by the government last year, which included the preparation of feasibility report on steel producing areas, research on steel reserves in Mianwalee, exploration of coal mines in Bakharwaal and for salt in Central Salt Range.

Ghazi Brotha Hydle ton was provided with one lac ton of constructive material during the last year period, whereas Punjab Mineral Development Corporation has earned around forty lacs and twenty thousand rupees by selling out various minerals, he told.
