SRINAGAR (Indian
Held-Kashmir): After the custodial disappearance of four
labourers of Bandipora, three more youths hailing from
Bandipora, Shopian and Maisuma areas have gone missing in
custody. Three girls have gone missing in mysterious
circumstances in downtown Srinagar.
A youth identified as Mohammad Ashraf Butt of Chitti Bandipora
left his home to attend some work. However, on his way, he was
whisked away by unknown secret agency and detained in an
undisclosed place. His family members have registered a case
in local police station and have been moving from pillar to
post to ascertain his whereabouts. The secret agencies and
police are denying his arrest and his family members are
worried about the safety of their ward.
Meanwhile 22 year old youth identified as Reyaz Ahmad son of
Ghulam Mohammad of Pinjoora Shopian left his house for some
work on February 2 (Idd day). On his way, he was whisked away
by unknown forces personnel and his whereabouts are yet to be
located.
Meanwhile, there is no trace of a shopkeeper, who was arrested
by troops from Masiuma area in Srinagar a few days back.
Identified as Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Dawood Colony, Batamaloo,
presently residing at Maisuma, he was arrested by troops in a
raid on his house during the intervening night of February
10/11. He has subsequently got missing in the custody, as his
arrest is not being owned. The residents of Maisuma have taken
to streets to protest against his custodial disappearance.
In a related incident, three girls have gone missing in
mysterious circumstances. The trio identified as Aaliya, 15,
Aasima, 13 daughters of one Mohammad Amin Mughloo of Sureteng,
Rainawari and Naziya, 14 daughter of Bashir Ahmad Sofi of
Natipora left their home at Sureteng to visit the shrine of
Mehboob-ul-Arifeen (RA) at Rainawari. However, while on their
way to the shrine, they got disappeared mysteriously.
