SingTel keen to invest in Pakistan, Lee tells President

RAWALPINDI: SingTel Singapore is keen to invest in Pakistan particularly in Telecom sector Mr Lee Hsien Yang President and CEO of SingTel informed President General Pervez Musharraf during a meeting here Tuesday.

Mr Lee is heading a four-member high level delegation of SingTel, a leading telecom company of Singapore, to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan particularly in Telecom sector.

Process of Privatization

During the meeting with the President, the SingTel delegation expressed keen interest in the process of privatization in Pakistan, particularly in telecom sector.

They lauded the government policy of deregulation in the fixed line and mobile phones sectors of the telecommunication industry. They were also appreciative of the investment environment, macro-economic indicators and economic reforms agenda.

The President welcomed Mr Lee and his delegation to Pakistan and briefed them about the measures taken over the last four years for the economic revival of the country and providing an investment friendly environment.
