Twelve Killed, 21 injured in Road Mishaps in Pakistan

SUKKUR: As many as four people including two women were killed and more then 20 others injured as passenger bus was trapped between a loaded trailer and truck on the National Highway here on Wednesday evening.

As per details, a passenger bus (GA 9642) travelling from Karachi to some where in Punjab was hit head on by a trailer (GP 6472). Meanwhile, a truck (4263) heading in the same direction went out of the control of the driver and hit the bus from the back.

As a result, bus was deadly trapped between the two vehicles resulting causalities and injuries.

The three out of the four deceased were identified as Ms Lachmi (22), Fateh Muhammad (50) from Mosa Khel and Liqat Ali (20) from Nawab Shah. While an around 35-year-old women remained unidentified.

The injured were identified as Ghulam Haider Rind, Arif Magsi, Kutub Pathan, Pir Bux, Ghulam Shabier Rind,

Maskeen Machi, Jeeto Bher, Hussein Shah, Rajab, Haleem Pathan, Muhammad Soomro, Imdad Ali Rind, Pir Bux Rind, Aloo Khaskheli, Pir Muhammad Brohi, Imtiaz Chandio and others.

The injured were rushed to the near by hospital by the locals gathered at the scene immediately after the accident and rescue workers.

Many out of the 20 injured were said to be in critical condition till the filing of this report. The local police have registered the case and started investigations.

Four of a Family killed in Multan

Meanwhile reports from Multan say that four members of a family including two minor sisters died when a coach ran over them near Hasilpur, about 140 kilometres off here on Wednesday evening.

The ill-fated Muhammad Hussain (50), his wife Razia Bibi (45) and two minor daughters Raheela (5) and Nabeela (7) were waiting for a bus at Adda Muhammad Panah near Hasilpur.

A Chishtian bound coach crushed them when it went out of control after a speeding bus hit it from rear side while overtaking, said SHO Abdul Hameed of Hasilpur Sadar police station.

As a result of which all the four family memebers died on the spot.

Both the vehicles have been taken into custody. Police have arrested the bus driver Ghulam Hussain while coach driver managed to escape, police said.

Three Die in Jhang

Three persons were killed in a head-on collision between a coach and an oil tanker on Jhang-Shorkot road, near Meerak Sial at 'Pull Seddhay wali' Tuesday night.

A coach No. CDC-444 collided with an oil tanker No.MNB-4480 and as a result three persons, including Akbar Khan Niazi (oil tanker driver), Abdul Ghafoor resident of Chak No.496 Samundri and another passenger Naveed
were killed on the spot.

Four others recieved injuries. They are Iftikhar, Zafar Majeed (Jhang), Riaz and Abdur Rehman.

One killed in road accident near Abbottabad


And one person was killed and another injured when a speeding Datsun pickup plunged into a deep ravine while negotiating a sharp bend near Abbottabad on late Tuesday night.

According to details a Banna-bound Datsun pick up (DIR 6411) coming from Karagh went out of control of the driver near a bridge and plunged into a deep ravine.

As a result driver Umer Rehman s/o Haji Muhammad Hussain died on the spot while his companion Fazal Rehman sustained serious injuries and was removed to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad.
