Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (Abbas Ansari Group) will remain aloof from forthcoming Indian elections, APHC (Ansari group) leader, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said Monday.

Talking to UK-based television network, he said election never remained our agenda. We are struggling for the right of self-determination.

Replying to a question, he said our policy is very clear that Indian elections are not the solution of Kashmir dispute.

Peace Process

At present, we are involved in peace process, he said, adding that India and Pakistan are moving towards betterment and we have welcomed this move.

He said, there is no letup in Indian suppressive activities in occupied Kashmir and this ground situation should be changed by Indian government, he added.

Mirwaiz said inhuman activities should be stopped, detained innocent Kashmiri youth be released and other confidence building measures also be taken by the Indian government in held valley.

Tripartite Dialogue

He said, tripartite dialogue process should be initiated to sort out a peaceful way out of the dispute.

We have informed Indian deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani during the dialogue that without the resolution of Kashmir issue, peace would not prevail in the entire South Asian Region, he added.

He said, ground situation should also be made conducive.

APHC, Advani talks produce no solid Results

The recent talks between All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Indian Dupty Prime Minister, Advani has produced no solid results, said Chief Editor Kashmir Times, Waseem Baig.

Talking to BBC Radio, he said, "I do no seem that it could be termed as representative talks because character of one faction has doubted. No meaningful dialogue has held."

Conflicts

He said there is a lot of conflicts between Hurriyat Conference and Indian government in views. There is no seem to be a common ground between the two sides.

He said other APHC heads like Gilani, Yasin Malik and Shabbir Shah say that these are not talks.

Waseem Baig said nothing solid has emerged during talks between the Hurriyat Conference (Abbas) and Advani except that the Hurriyat once again reiterated that the human rights violations are still being carried out and detainees are not being released.

He said, Advani has said that they will hold talks on substantial issues in June adding "I think it could be formal talks, I do not think that it will yield any useful result."
