ISLAMABAD: All Parties
Hurriyat Conference (Abbas Ansari Group) will remain aloof
from forthcoming Indian elections, APHC (Ansari group) leader,
Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said Monday.
Talking to UK-based television network, he said election never
remained our agenda. We are struggling for the right of
self-determination.
Replying to a question, he said our policy is very clear that
Indian elections are not the solution of Kashmir dispute.
Peace Process
At present, we are involved in peace process, he said, adding
that India and Pakistan are moving towards betterment and we
have welcomed this move.
He said, there is no letup in Indian suppressive activities in
occupied Kashmir and this ground situation should be changed
by Indian government, he added.
Mirwaiz said inhuman activities should be stopped, detained
innocent Kashmiri youth be released and other confidence
building measures also be taken by the Indian government in
held valley.
Tripartite Dialogue
He said, tripartite dialogue process should be initiated to
sort out a peaceful way out of the dispute.
We have informed Indian deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani
during the dialogue that without the resolution of Kashmir
issue, peace would not prevail in the entire South Asian
Region, he added.
He said, ground situation should also be made conducive.
APHC, Advani talks produce no solid Results
The recent talks between All Parties Hurriyat Conference
(APHC), Indian Dupty Prime Minister, Advani has produced no
solid results, said Chief Editor Kashmir Times, Waseem Baig.
Talking to BBC Radio, he said, "I do no seem that it could be
termed as representative talks because character of one
faction has doubted. No meaningful dialogue has held."
Conflicts
He said there is a lot of conflicts between Hurriyat
Conference and Indian government in views. There is no seem to
be a common ground between the two sides.
He said other APHC heads like Gilani, Yasin Malik and Shabbir
Shah say that these are not talks.
Waseem Baig said nothing solid has emerged during talks
between the Hurriyat Conference (Abbas) and Advani except that
the Hurriyat once again reiterated that the human rights
violations are still being carried out and detainees are not
being released.
He said, Advani has said that they will hold talks on
substantial issues in June adding "I think it could be formal
talks, I do not think that it will yield any useful result."
