Pakistan, Yemen ink protocol to cement
ties

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and
Yemen on Saturday singed a protocol to activate coordination and cooperation
between the Shoora Council of the republic of Yemen and the Upper House of
Pakistan’s Parliament.
The protocol is also aimed at strengthening the existing brotherly relations
between the two countries in various fields.
Chairman Senate Muhammedmian Soomro and Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani, Speaker
Shoora Council Yemen signed the protocol on behalf of their respective
Houses.
The Provisions
Under the protocol, the two sides decided to establish a friendship group in
each House of the two countries which will identify and promote cooperation
in order to strengthen the Islamic fraternal ties between the two countries.
Agreement was also reached on the exchange of documents, periodicals and the
visits of the parliamentary delegations.
The two Houses have also agreed to looking the possibility of organizing
joint forums on matters and issues of mutual interest.
Coordination and
Consultations
It was further agreed that the two Houses will strengthen coordination and
hold consultations during international organizations and conferences.
Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani, Speaker Shoora Council, Republic of Yemen, currently
on a visit to Pakistan and leading a Parliamentary delegation from Yemen, is
a recognized policy planner, an enlightened political economist and a
renowned politician of Yemen.
The invitation to Yemeni leader to visit Pakistan, at head of a
Parliamentary delegation was extended by Muhammedmain Soomro, Chairman
Senate of Pakistan.●
