72 surveillance cameras to be installed in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Capital police will install upto 72 surveillance cameras at various exit and entry points to ensure fool proof security in the metropolitan.

Talking to media men here Friday, the Additional Superintendent of Police Aslam Mehboob said as many as 56 cameras would be installed in I-9 area with the control room at Rescue-15.

"All the capital police stations would be inter-linked after the installation of these cameras which would help to keep an eye on suspicious elements and ensure immediate assistance to people in case of any emergency," he said.

Synchronization of Signals


Aslam Mehboob also called upon the traffic engineers of Capital Development Authority to ensure synchronization of traffic signals.

He said traffic staff was engaged in protocol duties during the VIPs' movement which increases traffic jam during that period.

He hoped that the shortage of traffic staff would be overcome after the new recruitment.●
