Juma-tul-Wida Offered with
religious fervour in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Muslims in
Pakistan and elsewhere in the world offered last Friday of Ramazan [Juma-tul-Wida]
with religious fervour amid emotional prayers for Ummah and the success of
its causes.
Extraordinary measures were taken in all major cities of the country while
heavy contingent of troops were deployed in sensitive areas including
Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan and other cities to avert any
eventuality.
In twin cities, of Islamabad and Rawalpindi the police officials and other
security staff were deployed in all mosques and Imambargahs.
Security
In some mosques, security officials searched every Nimazi to ensure that no
untoward situation took place on this important day.The largest
congregations of Juma-tul-Wida were seen at Faisal Masjid in Islamabad and
Qadeemi Jamia Masjid in Rawalpindi.
Similar arrangements were also taken in other vicinities of the country.
Special Significance
Juma-tul-Wida, the last Friday of Ramazan has special importance for
Muslims, who offer prayers on this day and seek mercy of Allah Almighty.
Imams and Khatibs in their Juma sermons highlighted the significance of
Juma-tul-Wida and Ramazan urging the followers to make a solemn pledge to
follow the teachings of Islam in letter and spirit.
Special prayers were also offered on the occasion particularly for the
ending of miseries facing the Muslims across the world.
Rallies, protests mark
Al-Quds Day
Rallies and protest demonstrations across the country marked the Al-Quds Day
on Friday.
Religious and politico-religious parties and organizations in all major
cities and towns took out rallies before and after the Friday prayers to
show their sympathies with the cause of Palestinians.
For decades, the people of Palestine are waging a struggle to get their land
freed from the Zionist clutches.
Call to UN
Peaceful rallies and demonstrations were staged in the Federal Capital as
well as other main cities in which religious scholars threw light on the
issue and demanded of the world community to play its role in implementation
of the United Nations resolution on the Palestinian issue.
The demonstrators were carrying placards and banners in support of
Palestinian people, condemning the barbaric policies of Israel.
These rallies were held under the auspice of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.●
