Kashmiri lawyers to sue India in International Court of Justice
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR: The Bar Association in occupied Kashmir is to sue Indian government in the International Court of Justice for committing war crimes against the people of Kashmir.

This was announced by the Chairman of the Association, Mian Abdul Qayyum while addressing a function in Srinagar.

He said, Indian troops are enjoying immense unbridled powers under draconian laws like Armed Special Powers Act. No legal action, he added, is permissible against the occupation troops.

He pointed out that these powers have made them trigger-happy and are committing gross human rights violations with impunity.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Shaikh Abdul Aziz in an interview from Srinagar on telephone, deplored that Indian rulers were not even allowing peaceful political activities in Kashmir.

He said, it was evidenced from resorting to brute force by Indian troops on thousands of peaceful demonstrators in Srinagar yesterday.●
