Welfare plan for Indian
firing-hit civilians near LoC

MIRPUR: An integrated plan
has been evolved by the local eminent NGO, Mirpur Jammu Kashmir National
Help Center with the coordination of the Britain-based NGO Savaria
Foundation to extend financial relief to the Indian firing-hit civil inmates
of various forward areas, adjacent to this side of the line of control in
Mirpur division, for their rehabilitation, reports Inp.
The Chief Patron of the Jammu Kashmir National Help Center Mir Khalid Bashir
told newsmen here Tuesday that the JKNHC broken all records as compared to
various other non governmental welfare organizations of AJK through
extending the financial relief of Rs. 46.08 lakh to needy during last three
years period.
Financial relief
“Those deserving families provided with the financial relief included the
civilian families hit by the frequent unprovoked firing before the ongoing
cease fire on LoC, on various villages adjacent to this side of the line of
control in Kotli and Bhimbher districts”, he said.
Besides he added the monetary relief of Rs. 7.10 lakh were disbursed among
the poor families for the marriages of at least 108 girls, Rs. 2.16 lakh
distributed among poor and intelligent deserving male and female students in
form of scholarships.
Mir Khalid Bashir said 30 families of Mirpur district besides 57 Indian
firing hit families belonging to Samani, Choki and Haripur forward areas of
Bhimbher district and 13 families of Naar and Khanka Katehra areas were
provided with the financial assistance of Rs.9 Lakh.
He said that JKNHC is the sole welfare NGO in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir
which was functioning with the coordination and financial assistance and
cooperation of the Britain-based welfare NGO Sawaira Foundation Dues Bury.●
