China, Pakistan agree to further
increase relations in banking BEIJING (China): Dr. Salman Shah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance met Shi Ji Liang, Vice Chairman China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) at CBRC Headquarters in Beijing on Wednesday. The two sides agreed that enhancement of the trade relations between the two countries needed further facilitation by establishing banking ties between Pakistan and China. Dr. Shah briefed Vice Chairman Shi Ji Liang about the emphasis of Pakistan government in further developing and enhancing trade relations including mutual cooperation in areas of banking and finance between Pakistan and China. Dr. Shi Ji Liang outlined the policies of Chinese government in opening up of the finance and banking sector to the foreign banks. In this regard, Vice Chairman CBRC extended invitation to the National Bank of Pakistan, having its Representative Office in Beijing, through Dr. Shah to take advantage of Chinese government regulations for establishment of a Subsidiary Bank in China. Vice Chairman CBRC assured full assistance to NBP and other Pakistani banks. Dr. Shah briefed the Chinese side on training & education facilities in the areas of banking mutual training and cooperation under existing agreements between CBRC and SBP.● |
