Two killed, eight injured in Bannu blast

PESHAWAR: In a terrorist act, at least two people were killed and eight others wounded seriously when a powerful bomb explosion rocked a congested bazaar in Bannu city on Saturday afternoon.

Condition of the two wounded persons has been described as critical. Number of buildings and shops were reported damaged by the blast and the death toll may rise as the locals fear that some more people were buried under the debris.

The Explosion


Reports reaching from Bannu say, the explosion took place at a grocery shop owned by one Haroon at Mandaan gate in the populous bazaar in the interiors of Bannu city around 12.15 P.M., the time when the business activities were at full swing.

The shop in which the explosive device was planted, reportedly by the terrorists, was flattened to ground and number of adjacent shops and houses were badly damaged. Initial reports speak of two deaths including a nephew of the MMA MPA Abdur Razzak.

Those injured include, Mir Wali Shah, Sher Zada Khan, Israeel, Rasta Baz, Shueb (brother of deceased Haroon and another nephew of MPA Abdur Razzak), Khan Badshah, Asif Khan, Riaz ul Haq and Aziz Ullah.●
