Hurriyat condemns harassment by Indian troops in H-Kashmir

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said the troops are harassing the innocent people to crush the struggle.

In a statement, spokesman of APHC quoting a delegation from the Kokernag area of district Islamabad said the residents were harassed by the troops every day.

"A delegation from Zaingam, Magam and Watrnar told us that the troopers belonging to 80 battalion BSF are forcing people to sit in the open during night in the name of search operations," spokesman said.

The statement added the troopers' are forcibly taking the private vehicles for military operations.

"Few days ago troops tried to take the vehicle of a villager for a raid. When the villager resisted they severely thrashed and snatched fifty thousand rupees from him. The villagers who protested against the action of the troops were beaten injuring many of them."

Condemning the atrocities inflicted on the people by the troops, Hurriyat has appealed the international human rights organizations to take cognizance and pressurize India to end p the acts of state terrorism.

Meanwhile, senior Hurriyat Leader, Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, addressed a gathering at Handwara assured the audience that the liberation struggle would be taken to its logical end.●
