Our Living Standards!
- Abdul Jaleel Ishrat, Lahore

DEFENCE Housing Authority DHA, as the name declares, conscious about its 'defence'. It is considered to be the place of elite class. If we rush towards the said Housing Authority, we come across many sign boards, indicating “DHA, 1 KM AHEAD, WELCOME TO DHA” and many such signboards. After having eye to eye contact with such boards, one feels as entering into some area where our seat belts should be fastened. And if God forbids, we are on bike, our helmet's visor should be clean enough to see so called beauties and charms of the said society.

Not any other society in the metropolitan has such signboards. What does it show? Other societies are not worried about its individuality? Or they don’t want to make realize a layman, that he is not going to enter into a place which is beyond human. Its just like any other housing society.

Why most of the people want to shift to DHA in spite of the rising prices there day by day. Its not just rising prices rather sky touching prices and an ordinary human being cant think all over his life, if he earns with clean hands, to make his own house there.

So the said Housing Authority must be treated like any other ordinary housing authority so a layman can easily dare to visit there and lest not fall into any complex. Or the residents of DHA are in some complex and to hide that complex, they must have a huge, dark and unpopulated houses and brand new imported cars. What an irony that they have huge houses but empty hearts. May Allah bless them with open hearts as well. Amen! ●
