SRINAGAR: The All Parties
Hurriyat Conference thanked Pakistan and its people for observing February 5
as solidarity day and for expressing their concern for Kashmiris.
Hurriyat conference spokesman thanked Pakistan for extending moral,
political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris. "On one hand India is
committing grave excesses here and on the other hand it is branding our
struggle as a terrorist movement", he regretted.
He said Pakistan is making great efforts to attract attention of people
across the world towards rights violations by Indian forces in occupied
Kashmir.
"Pakistan has again given new life to the efforts of Kashmiris and we thank
them for that", he said. The spokesman said this is an indigenous struggle
waged by Kashmiris and said it cannot be stopped under any outside
influence.
"We are all suffering for the great cause", he said. The spokesman added
that time will come when Indian leadership will realise ground realities in
occupied Kashmir and resolve this vexed issue. The Kashmiris continue their
struggle amidst great hurdles, he added.
President Musharraf's role on Kashmir lauded
The APHC leaders at a largely attended seminar in Srinagar Sunday lauded
Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf's principled stand on Kashmir
dispute and his sustained efforts to resolve it in accordance with
Kashmiris' aspirations.
The seminar was presided over by Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and addressed among
others by Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed and
Sheikh Ali Mohammad Advocate.
They thanked the President and people of Pakistan for their political, moral
and diplomatic support to Kashmir cause. They said that the relevant UN
resolutions provided the best solution to Kashmir dispute.
However, they added, a settlement could also be brought about in tripartite
talks participated by India, Pakistan and the genuine Kashmiri leadership.
