H-Kashmir Govt handling of rape victims case resented
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR: Questions are being raised on the apathy of puppet regime of Mufti Muhammad Saeed in its handling of the rape case of a mother and her daughter, by an Indian army Major.

On November 6, 2004, an Indian army major raped woman and his 11-year daughter at, Handwara.

The rape incident also provoked severe protests in occupied valley, which forced the Indian army to order an enquiry into the rape incident.

According to the Indian army, it has completed the investigations into the incident and that the army's General Court Martial (GCM) has recommended dismissal of the rapist major.

But, the puppet regime's two ministers are still trapped in preliminaries of the incident and have yet to come to a conclusion.

They say that the probe is still continuing, which has not only troubled the victim family but it has also caused unrest among people.

Since the tragic incident happened, the officials of puppet regime are constantly visiting the victim's house and have only extended verbal consolation and nothing practical.●
