WASA Lahore offers 30% concession on outstanding bills

LAHORE: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has offered a concession of 30% to its consumers on all the outstanding bills upto June 2004.

The concession will be available till February-28 and those who failed to clear the outstanding bills with in this period will have to pay an additional amount of 10% as fine or face, imprisonment, attachments of their properties and other lawful actions, a senior official of WASA said here Sunday.

He said the consumers are legally and morally bound to clear their dues timely against the services which they get from the department.

The official made it clear that no official of WASA has been authorised to get cash from the consumers against their dues as it is responsibility of the consumers to deposit the amount in banks.

WASA Deputy Directors (Revenue) can be contacted at the concerned towns incase of any problem related to bills on their phone numbers at: Aziz Bhatti Town (042) 7280287, Allama Iqbal Town (042) 7588626, Ravi Town (042) 7701348,Data Ghanj Buksh Town (042) 7596422 and Nishter Town at (042) 5121831, he added.

There is no need to dial the city code [042] if the call is made from within Lahore jurisdiction. This digit [042] shall, however be required if some one makes a call from another city in Pakistan to WASA in Lahore. Likewise overseas callers shall have to prefix [0092] as country code and by omitting [0] from the city code.

For example, if a phone call is made to WASA office in Allama Iqbal Town, the call from abroad shall be made as : 0092 42 7588626 and alike to other offices.●
