APHC appeals all Muslims for participation in Muharram procession
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR: Extending full support to the proposed Muharram procession being taken out from Abi Guzar here on Sunday by Anjuman Sharie Shiaan, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has appealed to all the Muslims to participate in the proposed procession.

"The puppet administration has been imposing restrictions on Muharram procession for the past 15 years thereby offending religious sentiments of Kashmiri Muslims which is highly condemnable," said a spokesman of APHC in a statement here, adding that the true followers of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) would never compromise with the rulers who are the agents of the forces of falsehood.

The spokesman strongly condemned the arrests by the Indian troops. He said that the troops of Kulgam camp arrested two brothers, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Jehangir Butt of Nanibugh, Kulgam.

He said the troops of Wachi camp arrested Abdul Hamid Dar, Tariq Ahmad Thakur, Sabzar Ahmad Thakur, Lateef Ahmad Wani, Muhammad Ishaq Butt and Abdul Rashid Butt.

He also pointed out the arrest of noted pro- liberation movement leader Ghulam Nabi Najar.

The Hurriyat Conference has brought these arrests to the notice of human rights organizations.●
