H-Kashmir assembly adjourned over deaths in snow, avalanches
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

JAMMU: In occupied Kashmir, the so-called assembly was today adjourned amid calls by opposition demanding resignation of Mufti Saeed's puppet coalition for its failure to provide relief to the people who suffered due to avalanches and excessive snowfall.

The assembly was adjourned following protests by the opposition legislators and pandemonium in the house on the second day of the session over the large number of deaths in the disputed state due to avalanches.

Soon after the so-called assembly session began, legislators of opposition National Conference and Communist Party of India (M) and Panthers Party, started shouting slogans in the house over the deaths and failure of the puppet administration to save those caught in the snow for past one week.

Holding the puppet government responsible for the deaths of over 200 people and over 300 missing in the avalanches triggered by the heavy snowfall last week, they demanded resignation of Mufti-government.

CPI-M leader M Y Tarigami gave a notice to the puppet speaker for the debate over the issue of deaths due to snow and avalanches.

However, the speaker refused the debate saying that the chief minister and deputy chief minister Mangat Ram Sharma were already in the occupied valley to assess the damages and to review the situation and on their return they will apprise the house of the situation.

Opposition members walked out of the house demanding the puppet speaker to hold discussion in the session at this point of time. Gauging the mood of the agitated members, the speaker adjourned the house.●
