Hurriyat Conference while condemning the arrest of Senior APHC leader Shaikh
Abdul Aziz and his associate Ghulam Nabi Darzi in New Delhi urged human
rights and justice loving organizations to pressurize India for immediate
release of arrested Kashmiri leaders.
The condemnation of Shiakh Aziz's arrest was voiced at a press conference
addressed by Hurriyat leader Mohammad Salim Zargar in Srinagar on Saturday.
Other Hurriyat Conference leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Sufi, Mian Manzoor Ahmad,
Advocate Abdul Hamid and Perviaz Ahmad Dar were also present at the press
conference.
Salim Zargar said that Shaikh Abdul Aziz had gone to New Delhi for medical
treatment and to inquire about the health of APHC chairman Syed Ali Gilani
where he was arrested by the Indian police after framing false charge
against him. Zargar added, that India was bent upon stifling the freedom
movement of Kashmir by harassing and arresting Kashmiri leader through its
secret agencies.
APHC considers the arrest of Shaikh Aziz and Ghulam Nabi Darzi a pre-planned
conspiracy, he added.
Salim Zargar reiterated that APHC firmly believed in resolving the Kashmir
issue in accordance with U.N resolutions and through tripartite dialogue.
Hurriyat Conference will never allow any conspiracy to succeed against
political resolution of the issue and was determined to continue its
struggle till its logical end, he added.
He stressed all Kashmiri leaders including Shaikh Abdul Aziz besides Masrrat
Aalam, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Shabbir Ahmad Khan, Zamruda Habib, Mohammad
Ashraf Laya, General Musa, Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Ghulam Nabi Najjar should be
immediately released from jails.
Peoples League office searched
In occupied Kashmir, the office of Peoples League at Rajbagh, Srinagar was
searched thoroughly by an Indian special police team. This followed the
arrest of senior Hurriyat leader and Peoples League chairman Shaikh Abdul
Aziz by Indian police in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani
condemned in strongest terms the arrest of Shaikh Abdul Aziz. Gilani said in
an interview in New Delhi, "only two days ago, the government of India
showed flexibility by agreeing to start bus service from Srinagar to
Muzaffarabad but today again it is continuing with the atrocities and human
rights abuses on the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The arrest is
highly condemnable," the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chief said.
He also condemned the recent arrests of Mohammad Ahsan Untoo, Mohammad
Yousuf Mir and Ghulam Nabi Najjar all belongiand demanded their immediate
release.●
