AJK PM for more routes to facilitate
divided Kashmiri families ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan has demanded opening of more routes to facilitate divided Kashmiri families. Talking to a private tv channel, the AJK Prime Minister said, "In a meeting with President General Pervez Musharraf, I requested him to consider opening a route for the people of Jammu as well". President Musharraf has assured him that two more routes, one from extreme Jammu and one in Poonch, will be opened, he added. He said the bus service is, however, a big facility, but it is not solution to the issue. The dialogue process for the resolution of Kashmir issue should continue, he said. "I and all Kashmiris welcome the bus service, but dialogue should not topped at its cost", he added. To a question he said, making Line of Control (LoC) a permanent border is not solution of the Kashmir issue, rather it is itself a problem. The AJK Prime Minister said, President Musharraf has proposed many options for resolving the core issue adding now there should be flexibility on part of India also. To another question he said the issue cannot be resolved without taking Kashmiris into confidence. To ascertain Kashmiris' aspiration, UN resolutions should be implemented, he added.● |
