Pakistani Rangers, Indian BSF
agree on more parleys LAHORE: The quarterly meeting between Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) was held Wednesday at the Wagah joint checkpost, 28 km from here. The Pakistani side was led by Brig Sakhi Marjan, Deputy Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) while Paramjeet Singh, Deputy Inspector General BSF headed the Indian delegation. Issues discussed on the occasion included joint patrolling, return of citizens who inadvertently crossed the border, border crossing by animals, construction of boundary pillars, violation of border ground rules, smuggling of drugs and other contraband, and release of Indian and Pakistani prisoners held in the jails of the two countries. Both sides termed the meeting a positive step and vowed to have more parleys in future.● |
