SRINAGAR: The Chairman of
the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Gilani has urged the world
community to play its role in getting stopped the Indian state-terrorism in
occupied Kashmir.
In an interview with Kashmir Media Service from New Delhi today, he said,
violations of human rights by Indian troops have further increased.
Only yesterday, he added, the Indian troops opened fire on peaceful
demonstrators in Shopian, killing one person and injuring several others. He
said, this is a clear instance of state-terrorism by Indian troops.
Complete protest strike was observed today in Matribugh and other adjoining
areas of Shopian against yesterday's firing by the Indian troops on
demonstrators. These areas remained under military siege for the sixth
consecutive day Saturday.
The APHC spokesman, in a statement in Srinagar strongly reacted against the
puppet regime's claim that there was no political prisoner in jails.
He emphasized that contrary to such hollow claims, there are hundreds of
political leaders and activists in various jails, who are not being released
despite court's orders.
He pointed out that the detained APHC leaders included Sheikh Abdul Aziz,
Mussarrat Alam, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Abdul Aziz Dar, Ghulam Ahmad Mir,
Zamruda Habib and Shabbir Ahmad Khan.●
