Dewa signs deal with Siemens Pakistan for construction of substations

DUBAI (United Arab Emirates): Dubai Electricity & Water Authority has signed a contract of $ 72 million with Siemens Pakistan Engineering Co Ltd for the construction of six 132/11kV substations on the side lines of seventh Water, Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition Wetex-2005.

These substations will enhance the transmission capacity of Dewa in the old areas as well as newly planned areas such as Ras Deira, Al Fahidi, Dubailand, Dubai Health Care City, Dragon Mall and Garden of Paradise.

These projects will complete in 2006.

Contract was signed by the managing director and chief executive officer of Dewa Saeed Al-Tayer and managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Siemens Pakistan Engineering Co Ltd Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui.
