LAHORE: Chairman ARD and
PPPP President Makhdoom Ami n
Fahim said on Saturday the sixteen parties alliance would participate in
MMA’s million march as both the alliances wanted restoration of democracy in
Pakistan besides the 1973 constitution.
He was talking to reporters here after addressing a seminar of Khaksar
Tehrik. He made it clear that PPPP was not entering into any deal with the
government.
Amin Fahim said the
government should forget that next general elections would be held in 2007
as joint opposition would force the government to hold early polls.
He said the US Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice spoke high of the
government officials in Pakistan only but in India she also met with the
opposition leaders.
Of Khaksars
Earlier, addressing the conference, ARD leader said before partition,
Khaksars rendered countless sacrifices but after the country was
established, it was governed by dictators most of the time.
He said due to non-representative government, the people were facing severe
problems as 'lawlessness, poverty, unemployment and inflation were at its
peak.'
PPPP leader said; "when ever dictator came to rule he always ruined the
country and starting from Ayub Khan, he gave water to India, followed by
another who divided the country and when Zulfikar Ali Bhutto came in and
gave 1973 Constitution, he was also thrown from the rule by another
dictator."
Lt Gen (Retd) Hamid Gul
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen (Retd) Hamid Gul said the current political
system had failed to deliver the people and new ways should be sought to get
capitalists who were pressurizing Pakistan 'to roll back nuclear
programme.'●
