Indian state terrorism on rise in H-Kashmir

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Indian army has rounded up around 32 Kashmiri youth for taking part in the protest demonstration in Kangan on March 12.

The arrested youth were taken into custody during the night between March 15 and 16 and they have bee locked up at Kangan police station. These youth include Shabbir Ahmad Lone, Tariq Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, Firdous Ahmad Dar, Shabbir Ahmad Mir, Muhammad Irfan Magray, Ghulam Rasool, Muzzamil Ahmad and Javed Ahmad.

Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned this act of state-terrorism by India and said that on the one hand India talked of democracy but on the other hand arresting peaceful demonstrators and sending them to torture cells. APHC appealed to international community to pressurize India to stop human rights violations against Kashmiris.

Meanwhile, a Hurriyat delegation led by Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori headed a protest demonstration at Meedoora, Tral. He was accompanied by Muhammad Shafi Lone, Pervez Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Muhammad Mir, Muhammad Maqbool Soofi and Yousaf Ganai.

Congress Councilor gunned down in IHK


In occupied Kashmir, bullets were pumped into the head of Fayaz Ahmad Majoo, a so-called Congress councilor by unidentified gunmen, in Baramulla town.

He was rushed to hospital but could not survive the bullets shot at close range. Police and military forces rushed to the spot and the area was surrounded and searched. However, no one was arrested," a police official said.

Majoo was elected from Baramulla during the so-called civic polls held here in January. The so-called councilors have been demanding adequate security following a series of attacks. Though the puppet regime had recently provided them with one personal security guard each, the councilors said it was inadequate.

Army agents thrash 7 people

Seven people including a minor child and 5 women were injured in Pazalpora, Bijbehara, when Indian army agents in disguise, barged into houses and thrashed the inmates indiscriminately.

The disguised Indian agents forcibly entered into houses, around 10 PM, and started thrashing the residents. 7 people including a minor and 5 women were injured in the mayhem that lasted for more than half an hour.

One 11-year-old Bilal Ahmad Dar and Ghulam Rasool Dar 50 were critically injured. The bedding and other goods in residential house of one Ghulam Rasool were burnt to ashes.

People of the area took to the roads and held forceful demonstrations against the incident. Hundreds of people including women and children took part in the demonstrations.

Protest in Tral against BSF tyranny


In occupied Kashmir, Forceful protest demonstration was held today in Tral area against the tyranny, unleashed by personnel of the Border Security Forces (BSF).

The demonstrators staged protest sit-in and raised full-throated slogans against Indian subjugation and in favour of liberation.

A large number of women were participating in the demonstration. The protestors were demanding removal of BSF camp from the area.

APHC, in a statement in Srinagar this morning, strongly denounced the military brutality. ●
