Bali Jee Bridge gets underway in Lahore Today

LAHORE: Once again the gracious host of Bridge in Lahore, Ajaz Ahmed, Director of Yummy Products, has set the stage for all those who yearn to show their expertise at the table.

This is the 100th birth anniversary of Bali Jee and a very special time for the game in this part of the country.

The tournament commences on Sunday morning March 20, 2005 with the pairs contest followed by the team event which will start Monday afternoon. Prize distribution ceremony and dinner hosted by the sponsors will take place at the conclusion of the event on March-23.

This is an established fact now that Bali Jee Bridge contest every year is an attraction for all the lovers of the game. The highlight of this Bali Jee bridge tournament is the participation of ten Indian teams which also includes their national teams captained by Kiran Nadir. This is a great step towards better bridge.

The invited teams from Delhi Bridge Association and Delhi Gymkhana club are being accommodated by Yummy - the sponsors of the tournaments as well. There are about two hundred bridge players expected to be participating in this Bali Jee Bridge tournament - a phenomenal number indeed. There are ten teams from India, twelve from Lahore, ten from Karachi, three from Islamabad and one from Multan and Abbottabad each ontesting for the twenty handsome cash prizes in this event.●
