Afghanistan's Karzai arrives in Pakistan tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Afghan President Hamid Karzai will arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday for a two-day visit to meet Pakistani leaders, Pakistani officials said.

Karzai's visit "reflects the close, brotherly relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. "

"It is expected to bring the two countries closer to each other," foreign ministry spokesman Jalil Abbas Jilani told a briefing on Monday.

Karzai will meet Pakistan's leader President Pervez Musharraf, a key ally in the US-led war on terror, and will be the guest of honour at the Pakistan Day parade in the capital on Wednesday, March-23.

Fourth Visit

Karzai, who was installed after the fall of the Taliban more than three years ago and won Afghanistan's first Presidential elections last October, will be making his fourth visit to Pakistan.●
