Veteran Kashmiri leader Sardar Qayyum recovers from heart ailment

ISLAMABAD: Veteran Kashmiri leader, Veteran Kashmiri leader, Sardar Muhammed Abdul Qayyum KhanSardar Muhammed Abdul Qayyum Khan is now, fairly in good health and was relieved from hospital late on Monday.

Breaking this news to ‘Pakistan Times’ late on Monday night, the President of the All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said that the venerated leader of the Himalayan State was earlier shifted to a VIP suite from CCU of the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology [AIFC] in Rawalpindi and thereafter accessible to his admirers.

Sardar Qayyum, popularly known as ‘Mujahid-e-Awwal’ was admitted at the AIFC almost ten days ago after having felt pain in the chest.

A team of experienced and highly capable physicians and surgeons undertook comprehensive medical check up of the herald of the Kashmiri’s cause and advised for him a complete bed rest, with no meeting with any-one.

Yet this embargo was lifted, the moment Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, who is also the Supreme Head of the All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference, the ruling party in Azad Kashmir was shifted to a private room of the VIP zone of the hospital, late on Saturday.

‘Yes, he is now feeling quite well and is got back home, the Mujahid Manzil in Satellite Town’ was the reply of Sardar Attique when asked about an update on the health of the much-admired Kashmiri leader.

A large number of AJKMC leaders and workers visited Sardar Qayyum at his abode in Pindi and enquired about his health. The All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference Supreme Head spent a couple of hours with his political and spiritual aficionados. Later he went for rest, in pursuance of the advice of the doctors.

Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, the chief of the AJKMC, who was on an overseas visit cut-short his voyage and flew back to Pakistan from the UK, soon after hearing the news of the ailment of his distinguished father, the Mujahid-e-Awwal.
