Ten with 2 cops killed by clash, family
fued in Punjab

GUJRANWALA: Two cops, an
assaulter and a prisoner were killed during a clash between police and
unidentified gunmen outside District Court’s lockup, while three gangsters
including a drug trafficker Naeem alias Neema Butt fled police custody along
with handcuffs on Thursday.
Reportedly, Naeem, also involved in a murder case, alongwith accomplices
Amir, Raheel and Javed were being brought to judicial lockup when
unidentified gunmen assaulted police party in a bid to get them freed.
As a result, constable Shafique and a prisoner Amir Javed died on the spot
while another constable Sikander sustained bullet injuries.
The injured constable Sikander chased the fleeing culprits and opened fire
on them that resulted in death of a culprit, yet to be identified, and a
police constable, Ghafoor, who was on his way to the court of a magistrate
unfortunately killed.
Naeem alias Neema Butt was a notorious drug trafficker of the city and was
brought to three different courts for hearing of murder, possessing illicit
weapons and narcotics cases. He remained underground for many years due to
narcotics cases and killed a youth in Noor Bawa last year and was arrested.
Six of a family shot dead
And a report from Bhawalnagar says that six people of a family, including
four women, were shot dead and another woman was seriously injured late
Wednesday in Macleod Ganj, Minchanabad.
Ghulam Mustafa had gone to his in-laws’ house in Mauza Marzeka where he
opened fire , killing his wife , mother-in-law, sister-in-law, father-in-law
and visitors Ali and Karamnishan Bibi.
Another woman, sister-in-law of the accused, Sughran Bibi got serious
injuries.
The accused Mustafa’s wife late Shahnaz Bibi was living with her parents for
the last six months, police said.●
