Ash, Vivek: Very much Together

IT seems the naysayers and cynics just won’t give up. The rumours about a split between Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi are again making the rounds. Don’t yawn. Because the couple in question are as much bored with constant efforts to rip them apart as the more sensible sections of Page 3 devourers are reading about it.

According to a close friend of the couple Ash and Vivek are very much a happening couple. “People think because Ash keeps quiet about her feelings for Vivek, it necessarily follows that she is into self-denial. But that isn’t true. When recently she giggled away David Letterman’s questions on a boyfriend on his chat show 60 Minutes, the cynics tried to provoke Vivek into believing she was ashamed of him.

But Oberoi isn’t anyone’s fool. The fact is, Ash is a naturally shy person. She feels far more strongly than she can ever express. And she feels terribly shy about broadcasting her personal feelings. Unlike Kareena who wears her heart on her sleeve Ash chooses to keep her heart tucked away from public eye.” Vivek is far more demonstrative and would like to express his love for his lady love far more strongly.

But because of Ms Rai’s naturally diffident nature he has no choice but to be discreet about his ardour. However their feelings are very much on. Individually and together, the couple has told close friends that their relationship is for keeps, no matter how hard the ‘well-wishers’ try to tear them apart.

In fact the two are constantly in touch at this very moment when Ash is shooting for Paul Berges’s Mistress Of Spices in England and the US. But who are these people constantly spreading rumours about the Oberoi-Rai split?

Could it be the same source which has taken upon itself the responsibility of destroying Ms Rai’s life and career? Setting up alternative clones as supposed replacements to Ash, instigating directors and producers not to cast her, offering himself at a discount rate just to win over directors who are desirous of casting her….any guesses about the individual who’s been on a vendetta spree ever since Ash firmly said no to pain and suffering that comes with obsessive love?●
