Pakistan's win against India
enthuses Srinagar SRINAGAR: Srinagar was enthused by Sunday's cricket victory by Pakistan team, in New Delhi. Srinagar city almost wore a deserted look here. Only few vehicles were plying on roads and the pedestrian movement was also little. Most people remained glued
to their television sets and the interest was almost one sided in favour of
cricket. India was heading towards leveling the series and Pakistan was looking for a win. The match appeared almost one sided after Pakistan took some early wickets but that did not steal interest in the show. The excitement remained
till the last ball was bowled. Otherwise packed with customers, a few could be sighted yesterday and even the number of peddlers was less "than half". Those who did not set their
stalls today must have had a good time at home", said Farooq Ahmad, a
peddler adjoining Polo Ground. Some gave vent to their feelings by bursting crackers and others preferred to take a stroll. Everybody, however, was seen talking cricket.● |
