Eight killed, 24 injured in road accident in Punjab

KASUR: Five persons including two women were killed and twenty others sustained injuries in a head-on-collision between two wagons at Changa Manga-Chunian road on Saturday evening.

Police says, a wagon no LDL-1849 was going to Changa Manga from Chunian when it collided with a coaster no LHP-9483 coming from opposite direction near Chunian hospital.

As a result Muhammad Hanif, Sharif Bhatti, Sughran Bibi, Ramzana Bibi and a child Sultan died on the spot while about 20 passengers received injuries.

The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals.

Two killed in Chakwal


Husband and wife were killed while two others including a 13-year-old girl received multiple injuries in a collision between passenger coach and a car at Chakwal-Talagang road near Al-Qaim Textile Mills, some 30-kilometer from here on Friday.

The ill-fated family was on its way to Mianwali from Rawalpindi in car No.SLF-9735 and when they reached near village Dharabi a passenger coach coming from opposite direction hit the car while overtaking a tractor.

Muhammad Wazir Khan and his wife Amir Khantoon were killed on the spot while the brother of Wazir Asmat-Ullah and niece Zakia Akhtar received multiple injuries. They were immediately shifted to District Headquarter Hospital Chakwal.

Coach driver Yar Khan fled the scene after committing the crime.

Saddar Police have taken the coach into its custody and registered a case and started searching him. The ill-fated family belongs to Samandi Wala District Mianwali.

Girl killed, two injured in Lahore

A minor girl was killed while her brother and sister sustained injuries in a road mishap near Dubai Chowk, Iqbal Town here on Saturday.

Rani (9) daughter of Muhammad Aslam along with her brother Ali Raza (3) and Sana eight months old were playing along road side when a speedy car IDK-6816 hit them.

As a result all the children received serious injuries and were rushed to the Jinnah Hospital where Rani succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the car fled away from the scene.●
