National Film Awards: Stars get onto Homework

PAKISTANI film personalities will participate in the upcoming National Film Award scheduled for April 30, says Najeeba [Beejee].

Beejee said that Resham, Saima, Nirma, Shan, Meera, Zara Sheikh, Shahida Mini, Moamar Rana and Saud will entertain Lahories with a series of dance performances to old and remixed tunes.

She said that scenes from first Pakistani films ‘Teri Yad’ and ‘Phairay’ will be screened at the awards.

She said the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz would also attend the awards ceremony.

She said that a special segment on Pak-India peace by director Syed Noor and Sangeeta would be shown. She said that film star Meera would performance on the peace theme, which would be directed by Indian film director Mahesh Bhatt.

She said Beejee label held a fashion show on August 14 in New Delhi in which Meera and Tarushni Ditta, Indian actress, performed together to a song which was a tribute to General Pervez Musharraf. She said that National College of Arts (NCA) students would design the stage of the award ceremony.

Film actress Nirma said that she would perform to a number of songs and hoped the audience would appreciate her improved dancing skills.

Shahida Mini said that she has not yet finalised the songs to which she would perform. Saud said that the awards would revive Pakistani cinema.●
