Meera: Bold and Steamy

LEADING Pakistani actress, Meera, who createdMeera uproar by her bold scenes in an Indian film has gone back to India dropping broad hints her interest in working for Pakistani films is waning.

Meera has gone to India for the promotion of Mahesh Bhatt’s film 'Nazar' expected to be released on May-20.

She has filmed some ‘bold and steamy’ scenes in the movie, which created a lot of controversy during which she also received some dire threats.

She however, has indicated she is not eager to make an early comeback in Lollywood, the name given to Lahore film world.

She is reportedly delaying the shooting of her only film there 'Bichoo' that she signed two years ago.

Meera came to Karachi from Mumbai early April for the shooting of late Afreen Baig’s play 'Anarkali' but was not ready to come upcountry for completing the shooting of 'Bichoo'.

Before her departure for Mumbai, Meera told reporters that it was very difficult for her to fulfil commitments on the film at this stage as she was too busy and could not work in the film.

“I want to help the filmmaker but I am finding it very difficult to adjust the dates. My priority right now is Anarkali. I would first complete its shooting and then take up the Bichoo,” she remarked.

Her attitude has upset film director Shahid Rana. “She has already changed the shooting schedule three times.

First it was April-1. Then she said we could start filming on April-10. Now she says that she would be available to complete the shooting after May-20.

Two songs have yet to be filmed on Meera besides her scenes with Shan, Saima, Abid Ali and Shafqat Cheema. They have all agreed to the new dates.

It all depends on Meera now,” he said. Shahid, who is in Karachi these days, is also worried about Meera's increasing financial demands but hopes to sort the matter soon.●
