BEIJING (China): More than
1,300 business people from 25 countries and regions gathered in Xining,
capital of northwest China's Qinghai province to show their products at the
2005 Qinghai Tibetan Carpet International Exhibition.
This year's exhibition, the second of the event, had 320 display booths,
more than 70 of which are for foreign carpet makers from Pakistan, India,
Nepal, Mongolia, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey and Japan.
The spectacular designing of the Pakistani carpets proved their worth at the
exhibition, said a Chinese textile exporter.
Some Pakistani businessmen put some marvelous pieces at the exhibition that
attracted people from various parts of China and some regional countries. He
hoped that Pakistani carpets would find a large number of buyers in the
local market.
Xiao Boren, vice secretary general of China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade (CCPIT) says, the Chinese importers would be interested
in buying apparels including carpets from Pakistan and other neighbouring
countries if competitive prices are offered.
Boren said that several products, such as handicrafts, jute products and
carpets, are warmly welcomed in China, so that the exporters from these
countries have ample opportunities to expand their business.
The exhibition was sponsored by the governments of Qinghai Province and the
Tibet Autonomous Region, and the China Chamber of Commerce for
import/Export.●
