India claims killing 13 'Infiltrators' in held-Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Indian forces killed 13 activists who were allegedly trying to cross into the forcibly occupied part of the Himalayan state of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Clashes between Indian troops and the freedom-seekers persist in less than a week.

The Indian forces shot dead nine in the Sumawal area, near Kashmir's famous ski resort of Gulmarg, an army spokesman said.

Another group of four was killed in the Kern area northwest of Srinagar, a report said.●
